Entry #587

Came across Stanford at the gym today. No sparring. To pour salt on that wound, he greeted me with, "Hey Lance! Peace and love!"
"War, not love. This is a place of war."
"No, you have to love! I mean, you love exercising, don't you?"

I felt myself getting sick, so I strided over to do Tate presses while reciting,

"1, 2, 3, 4
Every night I pray for war
5, 6, 7, 8
Burn, kill, mutilate"

Great start.

RE upper

Push-ups:
x 5
x 10
x 20
35 lbs. x 12
35 lbs. x 10
35 lbs. x 10
> First three sets were supposed to be warm-up, but they cut into my performance. Short rest times killed my arms. Huge pump in triceps.

Still, it cannot be denied: I can bench 315 with ease and rep out overhead presses with 90 lb. dumbbells for sets of 8, but I still suck at simple push-ups.

Tate presses:
4 x 8     50 lb. dumbbells

Cable pushdowns:
3 x 8

Weighted pull-ups:
1 x 8     45 lbs.
1 x 7     45 lbs.
1 x 6     45 lbs.
1 x 5     45 lbs.

Dumbbell preacher curls:
1 x 7     40 lb. dumbbell
1 x 6     40 lb. dumbbell
1 x 5     40 lb. dumbbell

  1. The RE upper might be what it takes to make the program interesting again.  You could also try out 20 rep squats in place of DE work.

  2. Yeah, I was definitely looking forward to this session more when I remembered I wasn't doing more boring speed bench.

  3. I get the idea that you would enjoy listening to Carnivore.
