Entry #159
Weighed in at 180. Gain of 2 lbs. I don't think it's fat. But it's
surprising because my diet has not been going very well the past few
days.

Started new routine today. Benched 195 for 6 reps, no spotter. I
wasn't making good gains doing 225lbs for 2 -3 reps. After I finish the
8-week program I'm going to start the harder one. That one is insane,
let me tell you. I've never had to train for a training routine, but
this is definitely it haha. Can't wait.

Entry #158
Ran to the high school yesterday and did Workout 1 on
trainforstrength.com, then ran back. Pyramiding push-ups are harder
than expected. Gonna keep this up once a week.

Starting the new routine tomorrow. I think I lost more weight -
hopefully it's not too bad. I really need to try harder with eating. I
can train like an animal no problem, it's eating that is by far the
most mundane part of this.

Entry #157
Not much training accomplished since Monday, but I've been doing much
studying. Revamped my entire routine. In addition to two new
powerlifting programs, I'm using a proper endurance plan to use on my
off days. The first powerlifting program is from a Muscle and Fitness
issue. I've read it over and it sounds like a solid strength routine.
After 8 weeks of this, I'm going to be switching to something far more
advanced. This second one has some insane techniques in it. I actually
think I need to train more just to be able to do it haha. I'll post
both of them soon, along with my endurance training.

Diet was good for a few days, but then motivation gradually dropped.
Right now I'm eating a huge dinner consisting of three different kinds
of beef, and I plan on going to bed earlier so I can wake up and eat a
bigger breakfast. So, I'm getting back on track. I lost a lot of weight
'cuz of slacking off. I might be down to 175 now actually. I'll make it
up.

Entry #156
Just did backyard training today. My chest is so sore that I couldn't
punch properly. Good sign, I say. Did kicking drills on the heavy bag.

Possible throwdown next month. I expect to see you there.

Entry #155
Argh I'm back to 178 lbs. Lost 5 lbs in a week. Ridiculous. Cannot
afford anymore of this. Need to be more careful with my eating and
not slack off anymore.

I definitely felt it in the gym because I wasn't able to do as many
reps today for a lot of my lifts. For example, last time on military
press I busted out 6 deep reps. Today I had trouble doing 3.
Frustrating as hell to see the numbers drop on both the scale and the
iron, but if anything this just motivates me to try harder. And oh
yeah, not to be a pussy with training, haha.

Damn weights may have won the battle but the war isn't over yet.
I'll get those bastards next time. (Shakes fist at the dumbbells) Boom
goes the dynamite.

Entry #154
Just did shadow-boxing today, along with stretches for flexibility. I
have a weird tendency to hold in when I jab; my arm doesn't fully
extend all the way. Have to work on breaking that habit. Hitting the
gym tomorrow with some refinements in my routine. Gonna try my hand at
some Olympic lifts for more explosive power.

Was a good weekend for UFC. Horn vs Liddell:

Entry #153
Training was satisfactory, except for perhaps the essential factor: no
lifting today. Not to say that weightlifting is more
important than skill and technique refinement in regards to martial
arts training, but it sure as hell is the most addicting part of it.
Still constructing a new powerlifting routine which I should start on
Monday if everything goes accordingly.

As my arm muscles have gotten more developed my flexibity has
decreased. Noticed this during several stretches. Will make a habit of
stretching from now on after weightlifting sessions to lengthen the
contracting muscle fibers.

Note to self: get strong and huge and freaky as hell. Sounds like a plan.

Entry #152
I was lying in my bed, relaxing and playing some videogames, when all
of a sudden I had a revelation. I realized that I need to get much much
stronger. Seriously. We'll see how that works out.

Looking forward to returning to the weight room tomorrow. Currently not much to report about in terms of training.

Entry #151
Ordered dextrose and maltodextrin from a site to go with my
post-workout shake. I've decided to get a lot more exact with my
nutrition.

Taking a few days off from the weights to put together a new
routine. Contemplating on adding in Olympic lifts, such as power
cleans, for more power.

Flexibility is improving. I'm getting closer to doing full front-splits.

Like Arnold said. "Let's get serious now."

Entry #150
Diet has not been satisfactory the past few days. It seems I slack off
on my off-days. Feels like I'm not motivated on days when I don't lift.
It's like perfectionism to the extreme. On lifting days I do everything
exactly right, seven meals a day, proper nutrition before bed,
everything. The rest of the time I just eat whenever. Have to make sure
I'm on top of my meal plan seven days a week; can't afford any
catabolism.

Some extra pictures from the throwdown that were sent my way today:

Me groundfighting.

Team Bullshido. I'm second to the left, top row. I look short 'cuz the guy next to me is like 6'5.

Entry #149
I'm amazed. In my own time I thought I'd been doing the most intense
training, but some of the fighters I threw hands with were on a whole
different level. I have to learn to control my body like that. I'm
doing great with strength training. I don't even think they were
physically stronger than me. However, their technique was strides over
mine. I'm going to continue getting stronger, but I definitely
have more work to do.

Videos (I'm in the blue sleeveless shirt):

http://media.putfile.com/BullshidoMcTD_8_05 Highlight video. I'm seen walking across the mat at one point, and at the end where I'm sparring George.

http://media.putfile.com/2256 I'm
not a ground-fighter, but I tried anyways...I did alright at the
beginning. I mounted him but was a little hesitant to attack him from
that position; it was a light sparring match, so I was wondering how
hard my punches should be. He returned the favor at the end. Was a good
experience nonetheless. I kept trying to get him in stand-up but he
insisted on tackling me and taking me to the ground.

http://media.putfile.com/LancevsGeorge Not
that great, this was the last fight and I was pretty tired. No
headshots allowed either, because we didn't have headgear for that
round. Though now that I watch it, that bastard got me in the head
a bunch of times haha. I'm only putting this up so everyone can see me
getting kicked in the back of the head, courtesy of George.

Disappointed with a lot, but it really just makes me more
excited to get stronger and better. I like the challenge. (Arnold
voice) I'll be back.

Throwdown was awesome. Why can't high school kids have parties like
THAT? I got kicked in the head twice. Good way to end the day. But
I apologize for any lack of coherent sentence structure; as a result of
the blows I'm slowly losing consciousness as I type this. Arteriovenous
malformations forming in brain cavity, acute kidney failure, sudden
drowsiness, vile after-taste in back of the mouth...yes, I am dying.
Heart-rate is now deaccelerating to bare minimum. Well I sure
as hell am gonna finish updating before I die.

Am waiting for opportunities for hosting sparring videos up. Until then here are some blurry photos.

Me outside, wondering why George is taking my picture instead of fighting.

George being George, right before his match. Never a good thing.

George and some dancing guy. Just kidding, that was a good, fast-paced match.

Me versus George. Ditched the headgear.

The videos will be a lot cooler. I have to mention my best friend
Chelsea. And Chris. They sent me ninja swords. Everyone, write
this down and take notes.

 I owe you Chelsea.

Entry #147
Today was the last lifting session before the throwdown on Sunday. The
plan is to take it easy tomorrow and Saturday. Relaxing is going to
suck, but I'll do the best I can.

Today, I did deadlifts at 295 lbs for 6 reps. Was pretty tough.
We'll go for 315 lbs next time. I was going insane. I was talking to
the weights and insulting them, and then laughing. Trust me, it works.

"My workouts finished after seven, so I would ride my bike home
after every training session. Because my arms would be so numb from the
training, I often couldn't control the bike, and I'd fall into a
wayside ditch.
It was a fantastic feeling, lying in the ditch with my arms aching." -Arnold Schwarzenegger

Entry #146
DEATH Chest Day (haha, © by Bradley - the man is a genius)

Bench press: 5 sets; 12, 10, 2, 2, 2 reps (135 lbs, 155 lbs warm-up, 225 lbs last 3 reps)
Doesn't
sound like much, but I did it without a spotter. It's kinda weird - the
first rep is getting easier and easier, but the second stays the same,
and nothing beyond that.

Plus the other ones that don't really matter in a powerlifting routine.

This was the most painful training I've ever done. My lip
started bleeding because I was biting it so hard. I couldn't raise my
arms afterwards to wash my face.

It's the times like these, when you keep pushing your body, and
you keep lifting while ignoring the pain, and ignoring your muscles
when they're screaming at you to stop...those are the good times,
friends. Let us cherish these moments. Like the monkey in the pinata,
hiding amongst the candy, waiting for the kids.

The training session also left me insane.

Tore open the skin on my knuckles doing heavy-bag training. Was on my
knees trying to keep my dinner down 'cuz I ate too much. Can barely
walk from doing squats yesterday.

All in all, a terrific day.

Entry #144
I lost 2 lbs. Weighing in at 181 lbs now. Damn. Gonna have to maintain my diet better. Eat eat eat more more more.

Did squats at 275 lbs for 3 reps. Got in an argument with this guy
who was watching me. He told me I should be using a belt when I go that
heavy. I think belts are crutches that should only be used during
competition. If you're going so heavy that you need a belt to maintain
proper form, then it's too heavy for you. He told me I wouldn't be
saying that once I got a hernia, but as long as I do the exercise
right, I'll be fine.

I also bought the Pumping Iron DVD. It's good. I have to say I like
World's Strongest Man competitions better than bodybuilding shows,
though.

My powerlifting routine is almost over. I got good gains off it,
considering I was doing squats at 185 lbs at the start of it. After the
thowdown I'm doing something different. Speaking of the throwdown, it's
in a week.

Ultimate Fight Night got me really pumped up. You better have watched
it tonight. It's 1:30 in the morning and I just want to fight. Hmm,
come to think of it, that's how it is for every night! Haha oh well. I
think it got me even more hyper than Dragonball Z does. They didn't
show Dragonball Z tonight, though...if they did, I would be punching
through the walls probably.

I'm taking a new approach to endurance training. Gonna start at a
low 25 reps for the first week, and increase that by 1 every
consecutive week. The idea is to allow my body to gradually adjust to
the numbers rather than training 'till failure everytime. My current
max is 40 push-ups, by the way. So you can see right there why I'm
trying to improve that.

Gonna resume powerlifting tomorrow.

Entry #142
I've been taking a couple-day hiatus from lifting due to extreme muscle
fatigue. It felt like my body was being torn apart. After a couple days
of recuperation, however, I feel even stronger than before. Haha I
think I watched too much Dragonball Z the past few days.

Throwdown is coming up on the 14th (not 16th). I'm eager to see how
much the powerlifting routine has helped. Will post results and
pictures accordingly.

Entry #141
Benched 225 lbs for four reps. Needed a little help from the
spotter on the last two reps. But I'm improving. A few weeks ago I was
only doing it for one rep.
