Entry #183
Making plans to meet up with a champion varsity wrestler to go over
some groundfighting before the November throwdown. Problem is he has an
injured knee and can't bend it at all. He says he can get the job done,
though. I'll take anything I can get. I should be a more well-rounded
fighter this time.
Training with a wrestler to learn groundfighting is like training with a Muay Thai fighter to learn how to box.The best thing you can take from this guy is his takedown and positioning game. Learn how to get the takedown, and how to stay on top. From there though, the only real groundfighting you're gonna learn is how to GnP or just ride and stall.
ReplyDeleteHeh I figured it's better than what I already have, but yeah, I realize I'm not gonna go toe-to-toe with a JJ user or anything from this.
