Deload

Overhead press:
90, 115, 137 x 5

97 x 5 x 10

Pull-ups:
5 x 10

I can't tell if deloads just happen to have perfect timing or that it's my body reacting to the lighter weight and letting itself go, but I always feel terrible when I deload and appreciate the light weight. It could also be letting myself do more than usual on my last week.

  1. I find that, with planned deloads, I tend to subconsciously push myself harder and harder in the weeks leading up to it so that I can burn out at the right time. I do the same thing at work when I have vacation time planned. Might be a similar thing with you.
